The supplements I consistently reach for-and why they’ve earned a place in my routine.
I’ve tried a lot of supplements over the years.
Some sounded amazing but didn’t earn a permanent place in my routine. Others are products I continue to buy because they fit into how I approach wellness: support the foundations, be intentional, and don’t take something simply because it’s trending.
These are nine of my current favorites.
1. Seeking Health Multivitamin
A good multivitamin is one of the easiest ways to help fill nutritional gaps, and Seeking Health Multivitamin is the one I keep coming back to.
I like Seeking Health because they take nutrient forms seriously. Rather than thinking of a multivitamin as a substitute for a nutrient-dense diet, I look at it as nutritional backup-something that helps round out an already healthy lifestyle.
Why it stays in my routine: broad nutritional support and an easy foundation for my supplement regimen.
2. Seeking Health B Complex
B vitamins play roles in energy metabolism, nervous-system function and numerous processes throughout the body.
Seeking Health B Complex is another favorite because I appreciate Seeking Health's attention to the forms of nutrients they use.
This isn't about taking B vitamins for an artificial energy jolt. I think of them as nutritional support for the systems responsible for producing and using energy normally.
Why I love it: energy metabolism, nervous-system support and another simple foundational supplement.
3. Vitamin D3 + K2
Vital Nutrients Vitamin D3 + K2 is a combination I consider particularly important for supporting healthy bones.
Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, while vitamin K contributes to normal bone health. I prefer using them thoughtfully rather than simply taking huge doses of vitamin D because more isn't necessarily better.
Vitamin D is also one nutrient I believe is worth testing instead of guessing so supplementation can be individualized.
Why I love it: bone health, immune function and foundational wellness.
4. Pure Encapsulations Magnesium Glycinate
This one was already going to make the list.
Pure Encapsulations Magnesium Glycinate is one of my favorite nighttime supplements. Magnesium supports normal muscle and nerve function, but the reason it became such a staple in my routine is simple: I love it for sleep.
I talked more about magnesium glycinate in my sleep routine because it's one of several small habits that help me create a better environment for restorative sleep.
Why I love it: relaxation, sleep support and normal muscle and nerve function.
5. Trace Minerals Research Fiber
Fiber doesn't have the glamour of some of the newest wellness supplements, but it's one of the basics I think deserves much more attention.
Trace Minerals Research Fiber is one of my favorites because fiber is such an important part of digestive health and regularity-and many people simply aren't getting enough from their diets.
I still prioritize fiber-rich whole foods first. A fiber supplement is exactly that: a supplement to the foundation.
Why I love it: digestive health, regularity and an easy way to support daily fiber intake.
6. Thorne CoQ10
Thorne CoQ10 is another product that has earned a place among my favorites.
Coenzyme Q10 is naturally present in the body and is involved in cellular energy production. Levels can also decline with age, which is one reason CoQ10 gets so much attention in healthy-aging conversations.
Why I love it: cellular energy and cardiovascular support.
7. Thorne Zinc
Zinc is an essential mineral involved in immune function and numerous enzymatic reactions throughout the body.
I use Thorne Zinc because I trust the brand and prefer keeping my supplement routine focused on quality rather than buying whatever happens to be on sale.
Zinc is also a good example of why I don't subscribe to the "more is better" philosophy with supplements. It's an essential nutrient-but appropriate dosing matters.
Why I love it: immune function and foundational mineral support.
8. Thorne Creatine
If you still think creatine is only for bodybuilders, this one may surprise you.
Thorne Creatine is one of my favorite supplements for supporting strength and exercise performance. Creatine helps supply energy to muscles during short-duration, high-intensity activity, and its benefits for resistance training are extremely well established.
I'm particularly interested in maintaining strength and lean muscle as I age, which makes creatine an easy addition to my routine.
Why I love it: strength, exercise performance, muscle support and healthy aging.
9. Nordic Naturals Omega-3
Finally, Nordic Naturals Omega-3 is one of my foundational favorites.
EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids have been extensively studied, particularly for cardiovascular health. With fish oil, quality matters to me, which is one reason I've gravitated toward Nordic Naturals.
Why I love it: heart health, brain health and overall healthy-aging support.
My Philosophy on Supplements
I love supplements but I don't believe supplements can compensate for a lifestyle that isn't supporting your health.
Sleep matters. Food matters. Movement matters. Strength training matters. Sunlight matters. Stress matters.
Supplements are another tool.
And my supplement cabinet isn't static. I pay attention to my diet, lifestyle, how I feel and, when appropriate, lab testing. Something can be a great supplement without being something every person needs.
That's the kind of wellness you'll always find at The Natural Life: thoughtful, intentional and focused on the things that actually make a difference.
